Parent's Night Open House and Parent Curriculum Night:
– Kindergartners and their parents, Wednesday, Sept 24th, 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm.
- Grades 1&2, Thursday, Sept 25th, 6-6:45pm.
- Grades 3-5, Thursday, Sept 25th, 6:45-7:30pm.
Presentations on curriculum and programs are geared toward parents. A limited number of childcare spots will be available for Champlain students. Please rsvp to Barbara Leopold to reserve a spot. Also, there is a Parent Advisory Meeting on Weds night at 6:00 pm as well.
Picture Day! Volunteers needed this week for Picture Day! Help students primp & look beautiful for their picture!The following shifts are available: Wed, Sept 24th 8:15-9:00, 9:00-9:45 and Thurs, Sept 25th 9:45-10:30, 10:30-11:30. City Council meets tonight (9/22) to vote whether to put the School Bond Initiative on the November ballot. No matter how you feel about the $92 million, Phase I Bond that the School Board has proposed, you will not be able to vote on it if the Council doesn't put it on the ballot. Call or email your Councilors today to let them know what you think (http://www.ci.burlington.vt.us/citycouncil/councilors/), or attend the meeting in Contois Hall and speak at the public forum. Public Forum starts at 7:30 pm; sign up to speak starts at 7pm.
To learn more about the School Bond Initiative and ask questions of the school commissioners and architect, attend an information session at Champlain on Tuesday, 9/23 from 6:30-8pm. You can also get more information (and the dates for other information sessions) at www.bsdplan.com.

Join the Cub Scouts at Champlain Elementary! We are meeting this Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 pm in the Learning Center at Champlain Elmentary, parents and boys welcome, and pizza will be provided. Cub Scouts is an activity-based, fun, family program for boys developing good Character, Citizenship, Initiative, Respect, and Responsibility. Great activities are planned for 2008!
