PIZZA FUNDRAISER: Who doesn’t like pizza? That’s right, everyone likes pizza and now is your chance to order pizza for your family and raise money for the Champlain PTO. So, save the date: Wednesday, October 28th is pizza night from Mama Mia’s. Order forms will be coming home soon. If you have questions about the pizza fundraiser contact Jenny Breckenridge at jennybreck@burlingtontelecom.net.
CLASS PICTURES: Your child has never looked better and you can prove it by ordering photographs from our school photographer Ambient Photography. They can be contacted at 872-0905. On a related note, perhaps your child’s beauty was not properly captured in film or your child was absent on picture day. A second chance is coming up on Friday, October 30th for picture re-take day.
HAUNTED FOREST: The annual Clymer street haunting will be Thursday, October 29th with a rain date the following evening. The Haunted Forest is a fund raiser for the Nancy Zahniser camp scholarship fund. The hauntings begin at dusk and get a bit more ghoulish as the evening deepens. Adult volunteers are needed to guide young ones through the macabre maze. If interested contact Katherine Monstream at kmmstudio@gmail.com. There is a planned run-through for volunteers at 6:00 on Sunday, October 25th.
ADDITION SUBTRACTION BALL: Hey, what’s this all about, anyway? Is it really a black tie event? Are you going? Here’s the deal: The New England Center for Craniosacral Therapy is throwing a party featuring the Starline Rhythm Boys at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom on Saturday, November 7th. The whole shindig is a benefit for the Champlain PTO and the Vermont Food Bank. Class Parents Dave Tomlinson and Kate Kennedy are the masterminds behind the event and they can be contacted at 578-9451. Keep an eye out for Dave on Tuesday and Wednesday, selling tickets in front of the school. And yes, fun formal attire is preferred.
PARENTING RESOURCE CENTER: Silvia Jope-Dalinghaus is heading up a project to create a lending library of parenting books at Champlain School. She is looking for donations of books and pamphlets that would be appropriate for the emerging Parenting Resource Center. Questions? Try Silvia at sjopedal@bsdvt.org.
If you have any items you would like listed on future PTO e-notices or you would like to be removed from our e-mail list contact Gary Causer at causerg@burlingtontelecom.net. Talk to you next week.
