THE BOOK FAIR IS HERE: Make the Champlain PTO Scholastic Book Fair your destination this week! Come and pick up some good books to read on a cold snowy day, give as a gift, or give to a Champlain Teacher! All proceeds from the Fair will be given to Champlain’s teachers and library to buy needed books for the school. The Fair will be open Tuesday December 1st (8:00 am to 3:00 pm), Wednesday December 2nd (8:00 am to 5:30 pm (pick up a Pizza if you come late!), and Thursday December 3rd (8:00 am to 3:00 pm) Have spare change? Leave it in “One for Books” box at the Fair and all of the money gathered will go towards purchasing books for the library. Scholastic will match our donation for Champlain's Library; and furthermore, Scholastic will donate a book for every dollar we
raise to one of the following national organizations: Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., the National Center for Family Literacy, and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
WHICH BRINGS US TO PIZZA: Pizza? Yes, you remember Pizza! Bite Me Restaurant will be providing the pies for our Book Fair Pizza Fundraiser. Order forms went home yesterday (Monday) and need to be returned today (Tuesday). Didn’t get an order form? Here are the choices: Three-Cheese ($15), Veggie ($17) & Pepperoni ($16)
Order your pizza today and spread the word! Champlain School receives $7.00 per pie. Checks are payable to Champlain Elementary PTO. Please submit payment with your order. FIRST STEPS IN MUSIC REGISTRATION: The Winter Session of the Champlain Elementary School PTO’s early-childhood music classes take place in the Champlain Elementary music room beginning Dec. 7th. Enjoy
learning music together with your child. Help your youngster get familiar with school before Kindergarten starts. Introduce a neighbor to the Champlain Elementary community. Class times are: Infant/Toddler (Newborn-36 months) – Mondays 12:30-1:00 OR Fridays 12:15-12:45 Preschool (2½-5 year olds) – Mondays 1:15-2:00 OR Fridays 11:15-12:00

PARENTING RESOURCE CENTER: Silvia Jope (Title 1-Parent Involvement Coordinator) and Isha Mohamed (Americorps member) are still looking for ideas and more donations of books and pamphlets that would be appropriate for the (soon to be opened) Parent Resource Center in the School lobby. CUB SCOUT MEETING THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, 5:15 to 7 pm. Pizza provided! Scouts will work on the next merit badge, leadership and initiative training, and each boy will learn about archery. This includes designing and building a real bow and arrow out of clothing hanger, rubber band, and wood! This will lead to an outdoor archery
