WHY SHOULD YOU GO TO AN UPCOMING PARENT MEETING?
For years parents have been asking What is the purpose of the PTO? Are the efforts people put into the PTO really the best way to support our teachers, kids and school? We've also had lots of requests from parents that range from supporting the play, to more information about the math curriculum (family math night), to creating a forum to discuss things like lunch and fire drills. Whether or not you can be involved in the PTO on a regular basis, these upcoming meetings are an opportunity for ALL parents to share their ideas of how the PTO can better support all of our kids, teachers & school, and to share what you need as a parent to better support your child.
Please try to attend one of the two meetings, as we work to clarify how the energy and resources of the PTO can best support our school:
Friday 7:30-8:30am (or any portion that folks can make--come on in at 8:10!) in the Teachers Room. Coffee and bagels provided. Childcare is also available please let Barbara Leopold know if you need it.
Tuesday, 6-7pm in the Learning Center. Same agenda. Same childcare. Different snacks.
JOINT MEETING:
THESE MEETINGS WILL LEAD TO A JOINT MEETING WITH TEACHERS ON Tuesday, Feb 16th, 2:45-3:45. At this meeting parents will discuss the ideas directly with teachers! Our goal is to help ensure that the work of the PTO best supports our teachers, kids and school. We're excited to have this opportunity to talk directly with teachers -- please reply if you will be able to attend!
FEB PTO MEETING:
February's PTO meeting will start immediately following the 4/5 Choral Concert on February 10th (est. time: 6:30).
