Dear Champlain Commmunity:
We can't let you leave for break without one more email with 2 more important messages: MANY, MANY THANKS TO LESLIE AND THE CHAMPLAIN TEAM for opening up the faculty meeting this week and for leading us in the process of building on partnerships that support every child at Champlain! And thanks to all of you parents and staff members (over 160 in all!) who have put your time, energy and thought into the project over the last weeks and months. Tuesday's Faculty meeting was a busy one, with small groups looking at the summary of parent input (available at www.champlainpto.org), highlighting ideas we thought would make the biggest difference in promoting communication and collaboration on behalf of student learning, and discussing areas that excited or concerned us. That information is going to be collated and passed on to the Climate Committee (chaired by Colleen Cowell and Stephanie Gorman) for discussion of the next steps. We will work to keep everyone informed via email, our website and good, old-fashioned paper. If you have further input, please don't hesitate to share it. Replying to this email is one way to do that. Or contact Leslie (lcolomb@bsdvt.org), Jenny (jennybreck@burlingtontelecom.net) and Jessica (jnordhaus@msn.com).
THE CHAMPLAIN PTO HAS VOTED TO ENDORSE THE SCHOOL BUDGET & URGES YOU TO VOTE YES!
Election Day is TUESDAY, MARCH 2ND. If you are going to be out of town, you can vote early at City Hall RIGHT NOW, or you can request an absentee ballot. Help support our school, our kids and our community. You can get information about the budget at www.bsdvt.org. Questions? Contact one of our school commissioners: Amy Werbel, Fred Lane, Alan Matson or Sam Osborne.
We hope you have a restful winter break. See you back at the schoolyard in March.
